Christmas Dessert Table/Strawberry Shortcake Trifle

Not sure how I missed posting this blog back in December but here it is!




This is the dessert table from the 2010 Selma Lion's Club Christmas Party.  We had individual Strawberry Shortcakes, Butterfinger Trifles, Banana Pudding, Pound Cake, Coconut Cake, Red Velvet Cupcakes, Ambrosia, Oreo Pie and Cheese Wafers. 

Here is the recipe for the Strawberry Shortcake Trifle:

1 Sara Lee Pound Cake
1 8 oz. Cream cheese
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. sour cream
8 oz. Frozen Whipped Topping (thawed)
2 large containers of fresh strawberries

Wash strawberries, cut off the tops and slice.  Sprinkle granulated sugar over strawberries.
(you can also use frozen sliced strawberries)
Cut pound cake into 1-inch squares. Set aside.
Blend together cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, and sour cream until smooth.
Fold in Whipped topping.

In a trifle bowl layer the ingredients starting with half of the pound cake cubes, then half of the sliced berries,
and then half of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers and top with strawberries.
